Synthesis and properties of castor oil based plasticizers
Synthesis of acetylated castor oil (ACO) Castor oil (93.4 g) and acetic anhydride (27.5 g) were added to a 500 mL four-necked flask, and were stirred at 140 °C for 2 h. Then the reaction mixture was washed to pH = 7 with sodium carbonate solution and distilled water. Then the water was removed by vacuum distillation.
Oxea aims to become major European supplier of DOTP plasticizer
Terephthalate plasticizer DOTP meets the highest environmental requirements. It is mainly used as a replacement for the phthalate plasticizers dioctyl phthalate (DOP) and diisononyl phthalate (DINP) in a wide range of application areas, including construction, automotive, coatings and flooring. Synthesis and Application of Sustainable Furfuryl Alcohol‐based Plasticizer
The environment‐friendly plasticizer dioctyl 1‐ ( (octanoyloxy)methyl)‐7‐oxabicyclo‐ [2.2.1] hept‐5‐ene‐2,3‐dicarboxylate (DOMFC) was synthesized from a renewable resource
Bis(2-ethylhexyl) terephthalate
This colorless viscous liquid is used for softening PVC plastics and is known for chemical similarity to general purpose phthalates such as DEHP and DINP, but without any negative regulatory pressure. It possesses very good plasticizing properties and may be used as a direct replacement for DEHP and DINP in many applications. Production [ edit]
