Pseudo-homogeneous kinetic modeling of dioctyl terephthalate
As a green plasticizer, the industrial production of dioctyl terephthalate (DOTP) is still facing the problem of high energy consumption. To optimize the production process and reactor, it is essential to understand the kinetic behavior of reaction system. In this work, the two-step consecutive esterification of solid terephthalic acid (PTA) and 2-ethylhexanol (2-EH) catalyzed by tetrabutyl
Oxea aims to become major European supplier of DOTP plasticizer
German oxo chemicals producer Oxea GmbH reports that it has entered into cooperation with an un-named German manufacturing partner to produce the general-purpose, phthalate-alternative plasticizer dioctyl terephthalate (DOTP) in Europe. As a result of the partnership, Oxea says it will initially offer 60 000 tonnes per year of DOTP by 2025.
BASF begins production of Palatinol DOTP plasticizer at its
BASF begins production of Palatinol DOTP plasticizer at its Pasadena, Texas facility HOUSTON, TEXAS, July 18, 2017 – BASF started the production of Palatinol DOTP (dioctyl terephthalate), a general purpose plasticizer, at its Pasadena, Texas facility, with a nameplate capacity of 60,000 metric tons per year.
Degradative transesterification of terephthalate polyesters
It is recognized that this plasticizer is as good as plasticizer as commercial DOTP, and that it may potentially replace dioctyl phthalate (DOP). The production of DOTP from scrap PET is shown to be cost effective. The use of this technology may provide a solution to a part of our solid-waste problem.
Non-DEHP PVC and Medical Devices | Spectrum Plastics
As the leading tubing extruder and converter/processor of PVC, Spectrum Plastics has had broad and deep experience running the full variety of non-DEHP PVC compounds. There are around eight to nine viable plasticizers to select from at this time, though consensus seems to have been built around three in particular: DOTP, TOTM, and ATBC, with
