DOA6 is more postmodern in that you don't have to play each event in order and the events are more self-contained. DOA5 has way better stages, that is something I really miss in DOA6. DOA5 has way more costumes in the standard game and it's more straightforward to unlock them. DOA5 has tag team mode, allowing you to play a team of two characters.

- DoA6 looks way better than DoA5 but unfortunately gameplay isn't good as DoA5. There were some unnecesary changes and whole game feels rushed. DoA without tag mode is hardly DoA game and yes, DoA6 don't have it. Still DoA6 being newer game has probably bigger online player base (it's been long since I checked online of both games).
