Synthesis of Tung-Oil-Based Triglycidyl Ester Plasticizer and
Compared to phthalate-based plasticizers, bio-based plasticizers exhibit reduction in chain interactions, and easy formation of free volumes in the PVC, owing to interactions of the epoxy group
Synthesis of Tung-Oil-Based Triglycidyl Ester Plasticizer and
A tung-oil-derived renewable plasticizer, tung-maleic triglycidyl esters (TMTE), was prepared and incorporated into poly (vinyl chloride) (PVC) for the first time. The chemical structure was studied by Fourier transform infrared (FTIR), 1 H nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), and 13 C NMR.
Synthesis and properties of a bio-based PVC plasticizer
The plasticizing effects of ALHD as an alternative substitute for commercial plasticizer acetyl tributyl citrate (ATBC) in poly (vinyl chloride) (PVC) were investigated in detail. The results show that the PVC films plasticized using ALHD have better organic solvent resistance and food mimic migration stability than ATBC.
Design and synthesis of a castor oil based plasticizer
2.3 Preparation of PVC materials The PVC resin and plasticizer (DOP and THEIC–MR phosphate) were dissolved in 100 mL of THF in accordance with the formulation shown in Table 1. The mixture was thoroughly agitated using a mechanical agitator at 160 rpm for 1 h at 60 C Fig. 1 Synthetic route of THEIC–MR phosphate.
Research progress of novel bio-based plasticizers and their
Abstract Plasticized polyvinyl chloride (PVC) has been widely used in the world. Petroleum-based plasticizers especially phthalates have been the most common plasticizers used in PVC. However, the global petroleum resources are becoming scarce gradually, and the hygienic requirements for plasticizers are increasing. Owing to the negative impact of petroleum-based plasticizers on human health
- What is DOP used for in polyvinyl chloride (PVC) resins?
- DOP is used primarily as one of severalplasticizers in polyvinyl chloride (PVC) resins for fabricating flexible vinyl products. DOP is a colorless, oily liquid with a slight odor produced by etherification process through catalytic reaction; it is highly compatible with PVC with excellent plasticizing effect.
- What is a phthalate alternative for PVC?
- DOA is a light colored, oily liquid used most commonly as a phthalate alternative for PVC. It is a monomeric adipate and offers excellent efficiency characteristics along with good low temperature performance. It can be used alone or blended with other plasticizers such as DOP.
- Who makes ATS plasticizers?
- ATS chemical division produces a wide range of plasticizers specifically used by Rubber, PVC wires, Shoes, Inks, Coating and Plastics Industry. With a designed capacity of over 35,000 TPA, the superior technology added with greater expertise of our team makes our plasticizers best in the market in terms of quality, clarity and purity.
