Due to strong local demand, Eastman is now producing Eastman 168 non-phthalate plasticizer at its Mauá plant in the state of So Paulo, Brazil. It's the first site in the country to produce this line of plasticizer, which is a preferred alternative for several applications, including footwear, children's toys, films, and plastisols.

KINGSPORT, USA: Eastman Chemical Company said it will discontinue manufacture and supply of two of its ortho-phthalate plasticizers - DEP and DBP as of December 31, 2011. Throughout the year, Eastman will help customers smoothen the transition.
