Thailand has already implemented GHS through the Hazardous Substance Act and Hazard Classification and Communication System of Hazardous Substances B.E. 2555 (2012). GHS SDSs and labels are required for hazardous substances from 13 March 2013 and for mixtures from 13 March 2017.

- The notification, issued pursuant to Thailand's Hazardous Substances Act, is based on the third revised edition (2009) of UN GHS. Besides, FDA is in the process of GHS implementation over Household and Public Health Use while Department of Agriculture (DOA) is in the process of GHS implementation over agricultural chemicals.
- When was GHS introduced in Thailand?
- It introduced GHS classification and communication system into Thailand in 2012. The department of Industrial Works (DIW) is leading the implementation of GHS in Thailand. FDA and DOA are in the process of GHS implementation over household/public health use chemicals and agricultural chemicals respectively.
- Can CLP & HCS SDS be translated into Thai language?
- As the classification and building block are different among Thailand GHS, EU CLP and US HCS, companies which already have CLP and HCS SDS and label could not simply translate them into Thai language.
