Synthesis and properties of castor oil based plasticizers
Introduction Poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC) is currently one of the largest produced synthetic resin products in the world. Adding an appropriate amount of plasticizer to PVC resin can improve the processibility, plasticity, flexibility, stretchability etc. Dioctyl phthalate (DOP), as the most applied typical plasticizer, has been widely used to plastify PVC for decades.
Bis(2-ethylhexyl) terephthalate
It is a non- phthalate plasticizer, being the diester of terephthalic acid and the branched-chain 2-ethylhexanol, which is referred to as octyl. This colorless viscous liquid is used for softening PVC plastics and is known for chemical similarity to general purpose phthalates such as DEHP and DINP, but without any negative regulatory pressure.
DOP Plant - Cey Kimya
You can easily find the raw materials of Plasticisers like DOTP, DOP, and DOA all over the world. Required raw materials for DOTP: 2EH (2 Ethyl Hexanol), PTA (Terephthalic acid) Required raw materials for DOP: 2EH (2 Ethyl Hexanol), PA (Phthalic Anhydride) Required raw materials for DOA: 2EH (2 Ethyl Hexanol), AA (Adipic acid)
Materials Handbook PART 2 | March 2025 | Adhesives & Sealants
Extenders and Fillers, Microspheres. Thermoplastic microspheres are a multifunctional additive for use in adhesives and sealants. The heat-activated unexpanded form is used in heat-cured materials as a foaming or expanding agent. When used in the pre-expanded form, microspheres are an ultra-low-density, compressible hollow particle.
