Study of Waste Plastic Mix Concrete with Plasticizer - Hindawi
Waste plastic mix concrete with and without superplasticizer was tested at room temperature. Forty-eight cube samples were moulded for compressive strength tests at three, seven, and twenty-eight days. Eight beams were also cast to study the flexural strength characteristic of waste plastic mix concrete.

Mechanical properties of polypropylene plastic waste
The sole objective of this research work is to analyze the use of plastic waste in concrete. Two types of aggregates extracted from plastic waste namely: Polypropylene (PP) and High-Density...

- Can waste plastic particles reduce the demand for coarse aggregate?
- Waste plastic particles are being studied for their potential to reduce the demand for coarse aggregate and serve as an efficient method of handling non-biodegradable plastic waste in concrete. The properties of concrete with waste plastic particles used in partial replacement of the coarse aggregate were investigated in this study.
- Can plastic waste be reused in concrete industry?
- For solving the management and disposal of large amount of plastic waste, reuse of plastic in concrete industry, mainly in light weight concrete as partial replacement of naturally obtained coarse and fine aggregates, can be considered as the most feasible application.
- Can plastic waste be used to replace natural aggregates in light weight concrete?
- On the other hand, from extensive literature review provided by several researchers on the use of plastic waste in concrete revealed that the use of ML technique on feasibility study of aggregates made up of single used plastic as partial replacement of natural aggregates in light weight concrete has not been explored till date.
- How plastic waste can be used in concrete sector?
- Since per year around 33 billion tons of concrete is manufactured therefore huge amount of waste plastic can be utilized in concrete sector which minimize the disposal problem of plastic waste in environmental friendly sustainable manner. It is to be noted that in all the combinations the variation of the cost of concrete/m 3 is negligible.
- Can waste plastic particles be used in partial replacement of coarse aggregate?
- The properties of concrete with waste plastic particles used in partial replacement of the coarse aggregate were investigated in this study. The discarded consumer plastic particles were cut into tiny pieces by shredding them from trash.
- Does plastic waste based concrete have a negative effect?
- This indicates that replacing coarse aggregates have more negative effect than fine aggregates by recycled plastic. For 20 % replacement all types of plastic waste based concrete can be used for structural purpose (28-day compressive strength is greater than 17 MPa proposed by ACI). iv.
