It can be used alone or blended with other plasticizers. In PVC, DOA features flexibility at low temperatures, good electrical properties, good resistance to weathering, and good stability to heat.

It is almost colorless and odorless oily liquid. It is very slightly soluble in water but soluble in alcohols, hexane etc. while miscible and compatible with all the monomeric plasticizers used in PVC compounding. Melting point: 43°C (45°F; 230 K) Boiling point: 244-252°C at 0.7 kPa.

DOA is the typical high quality cold resisting PVC plasticizer, with high plasticizing efficiency and low color distortion upon heat, which endow the products with excellent pliability and light stability under low temperature. It has an average resistance to water as well.
