- Many DOP producers especially in Asia, are trying to produce DOTP with their old DOP technology. But if you produce DOTP with an old DOP technology, the costs will be very high and quality will be low so there will be no chance of competing. For this reason, these countries keep producing DOP instead of DOTP.

- It can be easily used instead of ortho-phthalates and can take its place in the process. DOTP is preferred where high tensile strength and easy processing are required. It can be used as the main plasticizer in many PVC applications due to its low volatility and migration values.
