Sika Plastiment VZ | Plasticizers
Water Reducing and Retarding Concrete Admixture Sika Plastiment VZ is a water based, liquid, set-retarding admixture that slows the chemical action of cement hydration, delaying the initial set in direct proportion to the dosage used. After the planned delay in initial set, hardening develops at an accelerated rate.
Plasticizing of concrete | ISOMAT
PLASTIPROOF, plasticizer-concrete waterproofing admixture (according to the ASTM C-494 specification). Certified with the CE marking as high range water reducing – concrete superplasticizing admixture according to EN 934-2: T3.1 and T3.2, certificate number: 0906-CPD- 02412007. These admixtures offer the following advantages:
Sika Plastiment VZ | Water Reducers / Plasticizers
A liquid concrete plasticizer and water reducing agent with set retarding effect. Sika Plastiment VZ provides the following properties: Increased setting time in hot weather. Accelerated hardening after setting. Improved workability without increase water content. Reduced water without loss of workability. Increased strengths.
Sika Plastiment | Retarder
Sika Plastiment is a water-reducing and retarding admixture. Sika Plastiment meets the requirements of ASTM C-494 Types B and D and AASHTO M194 Types B and D admixtures. Sika Plastiment is highly effective in hot weather concreting to offset the accelerating effects of high ambient temperatures by slowing the hydration reaction and
Water Reducing / Plasticizing | EFCA
With a typical dosage of 0.2 – 0.8 % by weight of cement, plasticisers increase the workability at a given water/cement-ratio by between 50 and 100 mm slump with no loss of strength or durability. Alternatively, they can be used to reduce water content in a range of 5 – 12 %.
- What are water reducers & retarders?
- Water reducers, retarders, and superplasticizers are admixtures for concrete, which are added in order to reduce the water content in a mixture or to slow the setting rate of the concrete while retaining the flowing properties of a concrete mixture.
- How to plasticize concrete without adding water?
- In order either to achieve the desired plasticizing of the concrete (increased flow) without adding water, or to reduce the water/cement ratio in order to increase its strength, the following liquid admixtures are used: BEVETOL-SPL, concrete superplasticizer, type G (according to the ASTM C-494 specification).
- What is water reducing admixtures (WRA)?
- Water reducing admixtures (WRA) The use of WRA is defined as Type A in ASTM C 494. WRA affects mainly the fresh properties of concrete by reducing the amount of water used by 5% to 12% while maintaining a certain level of consistency, measured by the slump as prescribed in ASTM C 143-90.
- What is the consumption of plasticizers in ready-mixed concrete?
- Consumption of plasticizers, when they are added to ready-mixed concrete depends on the workability of the concrete when it arrives at the work site, and on its desired final workability.
- When should plasticizers be added to concrete?
- When plasticizers are added to the concrete by the time it is delivered in site, in order to increase it’s flow, then they should be added shortly before concreting, because the working time for these admixtures is approx. 30 minutes. An excessive dose may prolong setting time, but without negative effects on the concrete’s final strength.
- What are the benefits of additives in ready-mixed concrete?
- When added to ready-mixed concrete, they plasticize it (increasing flow) without requiring additional water, therefore, without reducing its strength. They contribute to better moisturizing of the cement, resulting to the highest possible level of performance. They act against segregation and significantly improve workability and pumpability.
