The company already has two grades of the alkylsulphonate ester-based plasticizer — the standard grade and a ‘low volatility’ grade. With the new grade, Bayer says it expects to improve haze performance by reducing the Hazen colour number from 300 to around 100, and to reduce the phenol content from 14 ppm to around 10 ppm.
