The chlorination of high purity molecularsieved normal paraffins yields plasticizers for polyvinyl chloride (PVC) with better properties than chlorinated waxes. The chlorinated n-paraffins are much lighter in color than chlorinated wax and are more thermally stable in PVC formulations.
