Effect of Glycerol Carbonate as Plasticizer on P(AN-MMA
A kind of new plasticizer glycerol carbonate (GC) was synthesized. The poly (acrylonitrile-methyl methacrylate) (P(AN-MMA)) was prepared by bulk polymerization. During the polymerization, glycerol carbonate with 1M lithium perchlorate (LiClO4) was added to (P(AN-MMA)) to form the gel electrolyte. The effect of the plasticizer on the conductivity of the copolymer electrolyte was studied. The

Effect of Glycerol Carbonate as Plasticizer on P(AN-MMA
During the polymerization, glycerol carbonate with 1M lithium perchlorate (LiClO 4) was added to (P (AN-MMA)) to form the gel electrolyte. The effect of the plasticizer on the conductivity of the copolymer electrolyte was studied. The ionic conductivity was found to be 3.3 × 10 -4 S·cm -1 at room temperature via AC impedance measurement.
Effect of glycerol plasticizer loading on the physical
This research was set out to explore the development of arrowroot starch (AS) films using glycerol (G) as plasticizer at the ratio of 15, 30, and 45% (w/w, starch basis) using solution casting
Effect of plasticizer on the ion-conductive and dielectric
higher conductivity and lower viscosity than other systems [18]. It has also been reported that glycerol can be used as a plasticizer for a natural polymer-based SPE [19].
- Is glycerol carbonate a plasticizer?
- Glycerol carbonate was incorporated in a nail polish formulation as an additive (5.6%). The properties of different organic carbonates including natural carbonates are compared with a commercial plasticizer (acetyl tributyl citrate) taken as a standard. Table 1 indicates the composition of the formulation used to prepare the film.
- Do plasticizers soften thermomechanical properties?
- The effect of the different single-component plasticizers (glycerol, propylene carbonate and ethylene carbonate) on the mechanical and dynamic thermomechanical properties of the films were studied. Moreover, the softening effect of the two-component plasticizer based on deep eutectic solvents (DESs) was addressed.
- What happens if glycerol film is overly plasticized?
- In the circumstance of overly plasticized (more than 50% of glycerol) film, adverse effect such as phase separation might take place. This is because the content of plasticizers has exceeded the film’s capability and the film matrix is no longer compatible with the plasticizers’ load, later results in a very gluey film , , , .
- Do different glycerol concentrations affect G-plasticized films?
- Subsequently, G-plasticized films exhibited better barrier and environmental properties than other starch-based biofilms. Overall, the present study showed that different glycerol concentrations affected the physical, structural, mechanical, thermal, and barrier properties of G-plasticized films.
- What is glycerol-sorbitol plasticized film?
- Generally, the performances exhibited by glycerol-sorbitol plasticized film are found between biopolymer film with glycerol or sorbitol only. The physical attributes of the film that have been studied, include mechanical properties, OP, WVP, heat seal-ability and microstructure.
- Can glycerol carbonate be used as a plasticizer for nail polish?
- To test the properties of glycerol carbonate as a plasticizer for a nail polish, glycerol carbonate has been synthesized by transcarbonatation with DMC, with a heterogeneous catalyst. Unlike K 2 CO 3, the catalysts CaO and Na 2 CO 3 are insoluble in the hot medium composed of DMC, glycerol and glycerol carbonate.
