Effect of plasticizer on electrical conductivity and cell
The effect of a plasticizer dimethyl formamide (DMF) on the properties of a potassium ion conducting electrolyte based on polyvinyl chloride (PVC) complexed with potassium bromate (KBrO 3) prepared using solution-cast technique was investigated.
Effect of plasticizer on electrical conductivity and cell
The plasticizer substantially reduces the brittleness of many polymers because the addition of even small quantities of the plasticizer markedly reduces the glass transition temperature, Tg, of the polymer. The electrical conductivity of a polymer electrolyte increases on the addition of plasticizer.

Effect of plasticizer on electrical conductivity and cell
Electrochemical cells of configuration K|(PVP+PVA+KClO 3)|(I 2 +C+electrolyte) and K|(PVP+PVA+KClO 3 +plasticizer)|(I 2 +C+electrolyte) have been fabricated. The discharge characteristics of the cells are studied under a constant load of 100 kΩ. The open-circuit voltage, short-circuit current and discharge time for the plateau region are measured.
- How does plasticizer affect ionic conductivity of polymer electrolytes?
- The incorporation of substantial amount of plasticizer in the polymer electrolytes enhances the ionic conductivity of polymer electrolytes. Plasticizer facilitates the reduction of crystalline nature of the polymer matrix and also increases the polymer segmental mobility.
- Do plasticizers enhance lithium ion transport in PEO-based solid polymer electrolytes?

- Does plasticizer incorporation in polymer-salt preferably poly (vinyl alcohol) affect electrical and electrochemical properties?
- In summary, it is concluded from the literature reports and our experimental work that plasticizer incorporation into polymer-salt preferably poly (vinyl alcohol) as host polymer and LiClO 4 as ionic dopant can have great impact on electrical and electrochemical properties.
- Does plasticizer affect structural properties of polymer-salt matrix?
- The combined effect of filler and plasticizer on polymer-salt matrix can lead to better electrical, electrochemical as well as thermal properties. 3. Conclusions Effect of inclusion of plasticizers on structural properties of polymer electrolytes is discussed with aid of literature reports available.
- Do plasticizers affect ion transport properties of PVA-LiClO 4 electrolytes?
- The effect of plasticizers, sulfolane/triton incorporation on the ion transport properties of PVA-LiClO 4 electrolytes is discussed here. A series of PVA-LiClO 4 electrolytes are prepared and among them 80mol%PVA-20mol%LiClO 4 shows the conductivity of 5.64 ± 0.44 × 10 −5 S cm -1 at room temperature and its Nyquist plot is given in Fig. 5a.
- What are plasticized PVA electrolytes?
- This section focuses the plasticized PVA electrolytes which are available in literature. The incorporation of substantial amount of plasticizer in the polymer electrolytes enhances the ionic conductivity of polymer electrolytes.
