Effect of Plasticizers Content on the Mechanical Properties
The present work investigates the effect of plasticizers on the mechanical properties of unsaturated polyester (UP) resin. After the curing behavior analysis, several compositions based on UP resin and different amounts of plasticizers are studied.
Synthesis and Properties of Isosorbide-Based Eco-friendly
Subsequently, the mechanical properties of the PVC fabricated using a synthesized plasticizer was analyzed; the tensile strength and 100% modulus increased, while the elongation-at-break decreased. On increasing the plasticizer content, the tensile strength and 100% modulus of the PVC decreased, while the elongation-at-break increased.
Comparative Effect of Different Plasticizers on Barrier
The addition of plasticizers affects the mechanical properties and WVP of a polymer film by altering the intermolecular interaction of polymer; also, the added plasticizers alter the moisture sorption behavior of resulting films which is an important factor in deciding the stability of edible film/coating.
Effect of plasticizers on mechanical, electrical, permanence
Effects of three different plasticizers and their blends with dioctyl phthalate (DOP) on thermal stability, flammability, mechanical, electrical, and permanence properties of poly (vinyl chloride) (PVC) compound were studied.
- Do plasticizers soften thermomechanical properties?
- The effect of the different single-component plasticizers (glycerol, propylene carbonate and ethylene carbonate) on the mechanical and dynamic thermomechanical properties of the films were studied. Moreover, the softening effect of the two-component plasticizer based on deep eutectic solvents (DESs) was addressed.
- How do plasticizers affect the mechanical properties of a polymer film?
- The addition of plasticizers affects the mechanical properties and WVP of a polymer film by altering the intermolecular interaction of polymer; also, the added plasticizers alter the moisture sorption behavior of resulting films which is an important factor in deciding the stability of edible film/coating.
- Do plasticizers affect tensile strength?
- Effect of plasticizers on tensile strength (TS) of HPMC/BW composite films composite films and formed more free volume. Therefore, they reduced the tensile strength (TS) and increased the elongation at break (EB). This explanation is also consistent with many studies when evaluating the effect of the same plasticizer on different biofilms.
- Do plasticizers increase tensile strength and elongation at break?
- HPMC/BW composite films incorporated with 2% of plasticizers formed films with the best characteristics among three tested concentration. Tensile strength and elastic modulus of films were decreased when adding plasticizers, whereas elongation at break were increased.
- Does plasticizing efficacy of different plasticizers differ for HPMC film?
- Plasticizing efficacy of different plasticizers was significantly different for HPMC film in studied concentration range.
- How does plasticization affect mechanical properties?
- By enhancing chain mobility and softening the material, plasticization plays a role similar to an increase in temperature on the mechanical properties.
