Synthesis and properties of a bio-based PVC plasticizer
The plasticizing effects of ALHD as an alternative substitute for commercial plasticizer acetyl tributyl citrate (ATBC) in poly (vinyl chloride) (PVC) were investigated in detail. The results show that the PVC films plasticized using ALHD have better organic solvent resistance and food mimic migration stability than ATBC.
Effect of acetylated citrate plasticizer on mechanical
Dioctyl phthalate (DOP) and dibutyl phthalate (DBP) are among of the most commonly used commercial plasticizers for PVC due to their excellent plasticizing effect and relatively low cost [ 4, 5 ]. However, phthalate plasticizers tend to migrate from the surface of PVC films due to their low molecular weights and are toxic to humans [ 6 ].
Tributyl citrate as an effective plasticizer
The effectiveness of tributyl citrate (TbC) as plasticizer for polylactide (PLLA) and poly (hydroxybutyrate) (PHB) was analyzed in order to improve the ductility of these polymers and make...
Quantification of five plasticizers used in PVC tubing
Searching for alternatives to di-(2-ethylhexyl)-phthalate, a plasticizer that has been widely used in the manufacturing of PVC medical devices, has become a major challenge since a European regulation underlined some clinical risks. The aim of this study is to develop an HPLC-UV method to quantify the currently used alternative plasticizers to
plasticizer ATBC Acetyl tributyl citrate CAS 77-90-7
Functions. ATBC is innocuous plasticizer, mainly used as plasticizer of PVC, cellulose resin and synthetic rubber, used in innocuous PVC grain, Produce food packaging material, medical products, prepare flavor, essence, soft toys for children and produce cosmetics etc. Compatible with polyvinyl butyra, partly compatible with cellulose acetate
- What is a citrate plasticizer?
- When added to polymers, citrate plasticizers offer good performance and excellent flexibility at low temperatures; being less volatile, they also offer good heat and light stability. Catagorised as non phthalates, citrates are ideal to be used in medical device, food packaging applications and pharmaceutical preparations.
