Review of Exposure and Toxicity Data for Phthalate Substitutes
The five chemicals identified by this report as the most likely o-DAP alternatives are acetyl tri-n-butyl citrate (ATBC), di(2-ethylhexyl) adipate (DEHA), 1,2- cyclohexanedicarboxylic acid, dinonyl ester (DINCH), trioctyltrimellitate (TOTM),and di(2-ethylhexyl) terephthalate (DEHT or DOTP).
DINP plasticizer | ExxonMobil Product Solutions
Jayflex DINP plasticizer is the largest-volume general-purpose high-molecular-weight plasticizer for PVC , providing the opportunity for cost savings with a good balance of properties. As shown below, it is an excellent substitute for Di (2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DOP) in most flexible PVC applications.
DINP Substitute (JD81) , PVC Plasticizer, Environment-Friendly
JD81 can 100% replace DINP, DOP, DOTP in PVC formula. With a low viscosity, it save viscosity reducer in paste PVC. HS Code: 1518.00 Product Description Previous: Factory Outlets Coldresistant Plasticizer Dioctyl Adipate Doa 103-23-1 Next: Plasticizer DOS (122-62-3)
DEHP vs. DINP as Plasticizer in PVC (Emerging Health hazard)
1. Do they both have the same performance as plasticizers in PVC. 2. Is DINP identified as an emerging health hazard. 3. Can we substitute DEHP with DINP ? DINP also leaches out like DHEP. 4. Are there any other plasticizers for PVC more safer or risk free than DEHP Elsmar Forum Sponsor S SteveK Sep 23, 2009 #2
Identification and quantification of 14 phthalates and 5 non
DINCH (99.0%) comes from BASF (Ludwigshafen, Germany). All organic solvents (purity more than 99%) were obtained from different commercial sources (VWR, Fluka, ChromaNorm, Sigma–Aldrich). Distilled water or water of grade 1 in accordance with ISO 3696:1987 was used. 2.1.3. Standard solutions
- Can DINP be used as a replacement for DEHP?
- DINP is not a ‘substance of very high concern (SVHC)’ like DEHP, and as far as I know it can be used as a replacement. However, it is still seen as potentially dangerous to health. Cannot be used in toys that can be put into a child’s mouth, I expect due to a leaching issue etc. There are alternatives e.g. dibenzoate plasticizers.
- What is the difference between DOP and DINP?
- Derivation – DOP or DnOP or Di-Octyl Phthalate or Di Ethyl Hexyl Phthalate is derived by esterification of phthalic anhydride with Ethyl hexyl alcohol (8 C atoms). DINP or Di-Iso-Nonyl Phthalate is derived by esterification of phthalic anhydride with a mixture of C-8-C10 alcohols.
- Does DINP improve extrusion efficiency?
- DINP has superiority in improving extrusion efficiency. Under typical extrusion processing conditions, DINP can reduce the melt viscosity of the compound more than DOP, which helps to reduce die pressure, reduce mechanical wear or increase extrusion productivity (up to 21%).
- What is the difference between DOP and DINP isomers?
- Mixture of DINP isomers. DINP offers superior resistance to volatility, cost wise it is similar to cost of DOP, making it a frequently-selected effective and efficient alternative to DOP. Your email address will not be published.Required fields are marked *
- What is DINP (di-iso-nonyl phthalate)?
- DINP or Di-Iso-Nonyl Phthalate is derived by esterification of phthalic anhydride with a mixture of C-8-C10 alcohols. They are phthalates with branched alkyl side chains of varying lengths C8, C9 and C10. 2. Structure and properties–
- Is MCCP a good replacement for DOP?
- Interestingly MCCP is accepted by REACH specifications. MCCPwith 52% chlorine is good. One such replacement is citrate-based plasticizer, but experience is that when CP is blended with it at the same level as in DOP, the CP migrates to the surface of product in due course.
