Environmentally Friendly Oil-Modified Polyesters as Polymeric
Oil-modified polyesters were synthesized to serve as polymeric plasticizers for PVC. A total of four polymeric plasticizers with different average molecular weights were prepared. Characterizations were done using Fourier-transformed infrared spectroscopy, proton nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, and gel permeation chromatography.
Application of Different Vegetable Oils as Processing Aids
(1) The use of processing oils or plasticizers is by far the most effective way to enhance the interaction between the rubber and filler by increasing the compatibility. (2) Petroleum oils with polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) are generated via the petroleum refining process.
Synthetical modification of plant oil‐based plasticizer with CO2 leads
Effect of hazelnut oil (HaO) and epoxidized hazelnut oil (EHaO) as plasticizer in NBR and polychloroprene rubber (CR) was investigated by Karadeniz et al. 5 Although, fatty acids impart good flexibility due to their long chain lengths (C 12 –C 22) they have poor solubility in polymer matrix due to less polarity. 6 However, by epoxidizing the double bonds of hydrocarbon chains in fatty acids
Plasticizers: Types, Uses, Classification, Selection & Regulation
Most common plasticiser chemistries include citrates, benzoates, ortho-phthalates, terephthalates, adipates, azelates, sebacates, and trimellitates. Plasticizers are the most common additives used in the plastics industry. But, selecting the right plasticizer for an application has always been a daunting task.
Paraplex | Hallstar Industrial
Brand covering our Polymeric plasticizers, both the G-Series and A-Series. These long-chain esters are based on many different acid groups such as adipates, sebacates and glutarates, and provide excellent permanence for critical elastomer and PVC applications.
- What are green non-toxic plasticizers?
- With increasing of the degree of national environmental policy and export bans of Europe and America, more and more green non-toxic plasticizers are developed and applied in the PVC. Among them, ESO, one of green non-toxic plasticizers recognized by FDA, has received much attention during the past several decades .
- Are PVC films a good plasticizer?
- The mechanical properties of the PVC films are a good effective way to evaluate the efficiency of plasticizers, as shown in Table 2. The mechanical properties of the a/PVC and c/PVC films are obviously better than that of b/PVC films, and are as good as that of the PVC films plasticized by the DOP.
- Can bio-based plasticizers replace DOP?
- The bio-based plasticizers a and c derived from modified waste cooking oil using aromatic diacid could be used as temperature-resistant main plasticizers for the PVC to completely replace the DOP.
- Which Bio-Base plasticizer has a better plasticizing effect at low temperature?
- The FT-IR of PVC films showed that the downfield shifts of the —CH—Cl groups of the PVC plasticized with a and c were greater than that of b/PVC. The bio-base plasticizers b had a better plasticizing effect at low temperature. 1. Introduction
- What are the mechanical properties of Bio-Base plasticizers?
- The structures of bio-base plasticizers (a, b and c) were confirmed by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), 1 H NMR and 13 C NMR. The mechanical properties of a/PVC were as good as those of PVC films with the dioctyl phthalate (DOP) plasticizer. Meanwhile, the elongation at break of c/PVC reached 422%.
- What are the aims of adding plasticizers in plastic products?
- The aims of the addition of plasticizers in plastic products are to increase the flexibility and elongation; reduce the elastic modulus, glass transition temperature (Tg) and brittleness temperature of the plasticized products; and make the plastic products have excellent processability. 3.2.1.
