Emerald Performance Materials constructs additional plasticizer plant
Emerald Kalama Chemical, a division of Emerald Performance Materials, has started the construction of a new operation to produce K-Flex non-phthalate plasticizers and coalescents at its facility in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. The new operation is scheduled to be commissioned during the third quarter of 2012.
K-FLEX Adhesives & Sealants Ingredients by King Industries
K-FLEX dibenzoates are a valuable, non-phthalate alternative for waterborne adhesives, latex caulk, and elastomeric sealant applications. The range consists of plasticizers and coalescents offering excellent value and balance of performance properties.
K-Flex Plasticisers - Euram Chemicals
KFLEX plasticizers, coalescents, and modifiers are optimized for excellent value, performance, compatibility, and economy in a wide range of applications. They are non-phthalate, low-VOC, and have positive attributes from a product health, safety, and environmental perspective compared to many other options.

Both the K-Flex 850S and K-Flex 975P OPVs were 250 mPa·s in viscosity. This evaluation confirmed that a relatively low concentration of plasticizer does have a significant impact on OPV viscosity with these types of plasticizers/coalescents. Table 2 lists the MFFTs of the OPV formulations.
- What are the benefits of K flex® plasticizers?
- K-FLEX® plasticizers also provide superior wear performance, increased stain resistance and resistance to extraction by solvents such as kerosene, olive oil and other non-polar materials. These properties make K-FLEX an excellent choice for the production of vinyl flooring, artificial leather and wallpaper.
- What are K-flex plasticizers used for?
- K-FLEX plasticizers offer equal or superior performance over other recognized plasticizers and coalescents in a wide range of applications including adhesives, caulks, sealants, coatings, and vinyl/plastisol applications. Lower gelation/ fusion temp. Ask us about our wide global inventory status.
- What are K-flex® dibenzoate esters?
- K-FLEX® dibenzoate esters are non-phthalate plasticizers, modifiers, and coalescents. They are compatible with a wide range of polymers and are commonly used in adhesives, sealants, coatings, paints, flooring, wall coverings, synthetic leather, and personal care.
- Are K-flex plasticizers phthalate-free?
- are an excellent phthalate-free solution for formulators looking to satisfy both legislative requirements and consumer demand. K-FLEX plasticizers offer equal or superior performance over other recognized plasticizers and coalescents in a wide range of applications including adhesives, caulks, sealants, coatings, and vinyl/plastisol applications.
- Which polymers are compatible with K-Flex® Products?
- compatibility with a wide range of polymers, particularly polar materials. This makes K-FLEX® products highly efective in many of the most widely used non-olefin based polymers: PVC, polyvinyl-acetate, polyvinyl-acetate/ethylene copolymers, acrylic, styrenated acrylic, styrene-butadiene, polysulfide, nitrocellulose, nitrile, and polyurethane.
- What is a blend of K-flex® plasticizers?
- Blends of K-FLEX® plasticizers with general purpose-type plasticizers — or with other specialty plasticizers such as adipates and citrates — are often used to take advantage of the exceptional properties of the K-FLEX® plasticizers.
