Comparison of the Density and Solubility Parameter of Pure
The calculated solubility parameters for the pure plasticizers and PVC (previously listed in Table 3) are replotted in Figure 9 for easier comparison. Plasticizers all have much higher δ than PVC

- What are the benefits of Eastman plasticizers?
- Eastman’s plasticizers provide important benefits, including good fusion profiles, low-temperature flexibility and excellent heat stability, for both general-purpose and specialty applications.
- What is Eastman DOA plasticizer?
- Eastman DOA plasticizer by Eastman is bis (2-Ethylhexyl) adipate. Acts as a plasticizer. It can be used alone or blended with other plasticizers, such as DOP or DOTP. In PVC, it features flexibility at low temperatures, good electrical properties, good resistance to weathering and good stability to heat.
- What types of plasticizers does Eastman offer?
- Eastman also offers a comprehensive range of polymeric plasticizers for use in applications that require very low plasticizer migration and/or extended product durability. Discover how our plasticizers can expand your capabilities today. Our extensive product line has a range of options to meet your plasticizer needs.
- How to choose a general purpose plasticizer?
- Typical properties are listed in Table 1. Offers good mechanical and permanence properties and excellent low-temperature flexibility. It also provides low viscosity in plastisols with good viscosity stability. These test results are good starting points to guide the vinyl formulator when choosing a general-purpose plasticizer.
- Does Eastman 168Tm non-Phthalate plasticizer have a low viscosity?
- Brookfield (low-shear) and Severs (high-shear) viscosities were measured. The Brookfield viscosities were measured over a 3-week period (Figure 3). As shown, Eastman 168TM non-phthalate plasticizer imparts lower viscosity than the other general-purpose plasticizers. Excellent viscosity stability is achieved when using Eastman 168, DINP, and 711P.
- Which non Phthalate plasticizer is best?
- As shown in Table 3, Eastman 168TM non-phthalate plasticizer imparts comparable mechanical and permanence properties. The low-temperature flexibility tests show that Eastman 168 and 711P are best. Dry blends were prepared in a high-intensity mixer using the formulations given in Table 4.
