Bis(2-ethylhexyl) terephthalate
This colorless viscous liquid is used for softening PVC plastics and is known for chemical similarity to general purpose phthalates such as DEHP and DINP, but without any negative regulatory pressure. It possesses very good plasticizing properties and may be used as a direct replacement for DEHP and DINP in many applications. Production [ edit]
BASF begins production of Palatinol DOTP plasticizer at its
HOUSTON, TEXAS, July 18, 2017 – BASF started the production of Palatinol DOTP (dioctyl terephthalate), a general purpose plasticizer, at its Pasadena, Texas facility, with a nameplate capacity of 60,000 metric tons per year. The plant enables BASF to respond to the growing demand for non-ortho-phthalate plasticizers in North America, and strengthens its position as a reliable source for DOTP.
Plasticizers: Types, Uses, Classification, Selection & Regulation
Dioctyl Terephthalate (DOTP, DEHT) Plasticizer Molecule Phthalates appear virtually colorless with a faint odor. They have limited solubility in water but are miscible in many of the organic solvents (mineral oil etc.) Phthalate Plasticizers Benefits & Limitations Phthalate Plasticizers Applications
Perspectives on alternatives to phthalate plasticized poly
Properties of the PVC films were explored and compared to those of petroleum-based plasticizer dioctyl terephthalate (DOTP). The results indicated that the epoxidized cardanol based phosphate ester had significantly higher thermal stability than DOTP, which could also improve thermal properties of PVC blends obviously.

In their studies, they used super-plasticizer with high DOTP dosage to remove this disadvantage and to improve the workability performance of the concrete. The amount of DOTP is identified for 1 m 3 concrete (imek et al., 2018). Download : Download full-size image; Figure 11.2. The change of the slump flow value of dioctyl terephthalate
- What is di-octyl terephthalate (DOTP)?
- Di-Octyl Terephthalate (DOTP) is a versatile and environmentally friendly plasticizer widely used in various industries. Its primary function is to enhance the flexibility, durability, and workability of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) products while offering several advantages over traditional phthalate-based plasticizers.
- What is a DOTP plasticizer?
