Most circulating 25 (OH)D and 1,25 (OH) 2 D is transported in the circulation bound to DBP (80–90%) and to albumin (10–20%). A very small fraction [0.02–0.05% of 25 (OH)D and 0.2–0.6% of total 1,25 (OH) 2 D] remains free or unbound ( 7 ). Thus, under physiologic conditions, nearly all circulating vitamin D compounds are protein bound.
Dibutyl phthalate
Dibutyl phthalate (DBP) is an organic compound which is commonly used as a plasticizer because of its low toxicity and wide liquid range. With the chemical formula C 6 H 4 (CO 2 C 4 H 9 ) 2 , it is a colorless oil, although commercial samples are often yellow.
