Superplasticizer
Superplasticizers ( SPs ), also known as high range water reducers, are additives used in making high strength concrete. Plasticizers are chemical compounds that enable the production of concrete with approximately 15% less water content. Superplasticizers allow reduction in water content by 30% or more.
SikaPlast-2000 P4 | Superplasticizers
SikaPlast -2000 P4 is a third generation low-mid range super plasticizer for concrete and mortar. It meets the requirements for super plasticizers according to ASTM C494 type G. SikaPlast -2000 P4 acts by different mechanisms. Through surface absorption and sterical separation effect on the cement particles, in parallel to the hydration process
Effectiveness of Thermal Stimulation of Superplasticizers on Fresh
Based on this hypothesis, a super- plasticizer was heated at 40 °C to 60 °C for 0.5 h or 24 h. Using mortar ow tests and dynamic light scattering (DLS), the authors showed a change in the...
EFFECT OF SUPERPLASTICIZER ON PROPERTIES OF MORTAR - ResearchGate
This present study examined the effect of Plastiment –BV 40 and the effect of SP dosage on the properties of cement mortar was investigated. The test samples were subjected to elevated...
Influence of superplasticizer on strength of concrete - ResearchGate
Today super plasticizers are used in all important projects across the world in high raise buildings, pre-stressed concrete, slender components with congested and densely packed...
- Why are superplasticizers important in cement mortar mix?
- They have become indispensable constituents of any designed cement mortar mix today. Property of fresh and hardened cement mortar is strongly influenced by the interaction of superplasticizers and cement which is essentially requiring a careful selection of SP dosage.
- What is a superplasticizer in cement mix?
- Superplasticizers (SP) are one of the most important constituents of cement cementitious mix mixes. It makes cementitious mix flowable at a low water-cement ratio without segregation and bleeding as required for high-performance concrete .
- How do superplasticizers affect cement pore volume?
- The addition of superplasticizers into a mix neutralizes the surface interaction among the cement particles and thus, reduces the viscosity of cement paste (free from agglomeration) resulting in reduced pore volume. Superplasticizers have high molecular weight and consist of synthetic chemicals and water-soluble polymers.
- What is the performance of superplasticizers in cementitious system?
- The performance of superplasticizers in cementitious system is known to depend on cement fineness, cement composition mode of introduction to the mixture etc., as well as on the chemical composition of superplasticizers.
- Do polycarboxylate superplasticizers adsorb on cement and silica fume?
- Schröfl C, Gruber M, Plank J (2012) Preferential adsorption of polycarboxylate superplasticizers on cement and silica fume in ultra-high performance concrete (UHPC). Cem Concr Res 42:1401–1408
- Why are superplasticizers used in Indian cementitious mix?
- Superplasticizers are increasingly being used in Indian cementitious mix from the 1980 s onwards as they have proved their credibility in parameters like water and cement reduction apart from workability retention, strength gain, and ease to place and pump.
