Filtration / Disinfection - ASHRAE
The fraction of particles removed from air passing through a filter is termed “filter efficiency” and is provided by the Minimum Efficiency Reporting Value (MERV) from an ASHRAE 52.2 test is based on the filter efficiency. - MERV ranges from 1 to 16; higher MERV = higher efficiency

Filtration and Disinfection FAQ - ASHRAE
Filters with MERV ratings higher than 14 would capture an even higher percentage of the particles of concern. High-efficiency particulate air (HEPA) filters are even more efficient at filtering human-generated infectious aerosols. By definition, a HEPA filter must be at least 99.97% efficient at capturing particles 0.3 m in size.
Farr 30/30 | Camfil
High-capacity pleated panel filter available in 1", 2", or 4" depths. Guaranteed by Camfil to last longer. True MERV 8A maintained efficiency. Efficiency meets or exceeds requirements by cognizant authorities for reducing the introduction of outside air contaminants. Meets FGI and ASHRAE Standard 170 recommendations for medical facilities.
HEPA and 95% DOP Panel Filter
In heavy smoke applications, a combination of 95% DOP and HEPA panel filters may be the best solution. 95% DOP filters last 3-5 times longer and have greater holding capacity in oil loading applications.
