When you buy a car, home, or major appliance, a seller may offer you an extended warranty or service contract. An extended warranty or service contract costs extra and is sold separately from a product. It’s not the same as a warranty, which is included in the price of a product.

The DOA process is separate from any warranty programs. DOAs must be claimed within 180 days of shipment and before the last ship date if the product has an end-of-life announcement. Products must have been purchased directly from Cisco. The customer must provide the serial number and purchase order or sales order of the purchase.

Who is liable for faulty goods – the retailer or manufacturer?
1 – you have a LEGAL CONTRACT with the seller. If you are being fobbed off then you need to take action against the seller. 2 – if the seller does not give you your rights (as explained above) then you must pursue them through the court system (in England the county court).
