After several tens of years, the plasticizer industry in China has grown to a relatively large scale. Currently, China has the largest plasticizer production and consumption in Asia, with a capacity of 2.2 million tons, an actual volume of 1.3 million tons, and an apparent consumption of 1.7 million tons.

Eastman DOP Plasticizer (Bis (2-Ethylhexyl) Phthalate) is a light colored, low volatility, odorless liquid. It is the most widely used all-purpose plasticizer offered by Eastman for use with polyvinyl chloride (PVC) resins. It is insoluble in water and has a viscosity of 56 cP at 25°C.

ABSTRACT. The use of non-ortho-phthalate plasticizers in poly (vinyl chloride) (PVC) packaging materials and medical devices has been in increasing demand due to worldwide regulatory trends to minimize or eliminate phthalate plasticizers (particularly di(2-ethylhexyl)phthalate (DEHP) or dioctyl phthalate (DOP)) in the PVC industry.

One of these organic compounds is dioctyl phthalate (DOP), a softening agent (plasticizer) widely used in the production of imitation leather or mould plastic. In order to ensure the highest possible quality of the plasticizer, the raw material is always separated from its secondary components fi rst and then fi lled into a tank for delivery purposes.

The plasticizers DOP and DBP connect PVC chains and allow only a limited rotation of PVC chain segments. Consequently, the number of free dipoles decreases . In contrast, for DEA and DBS plasticizers, the PVC chains are not restricted and the dipoles on the PVC chains are free to respond in the applied electric field.
