Tributyl citrate production via reactive distillation: Model
Reconciliation of a computer model for the production of tributyl citrate (TBC) via reactive distillation (RD) was carried out, using pilot plan data. It was observed that the main parameters affecting the agreement of the model with the experimental observations were the heat loss, catalyst effectiveness, Murphree efficiency and liquid hold-up.
Preparation supported heteropoly (acid)/polyaniline catalysts
Introduction Recently, the plasticizers market is growing worldwide, as projected by latest statistical data at about 11 billion pounds per year of which, 2.4 billion pounds is shared by the United States. 1 Tributyl citrate (TBC) has been applied in polymer industries such as solvents for synthesis of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and its copolymers. 2 The copolymers of TBC are widely applied in
Synthesis of tributyl citrate using acid ionic liquid as
Synthesis of tributyl citrate (TBC) has been studied by using acid functionalized ionic liquid as catalyst. The results indicated that acidic ionic liquids show good catalytic and reusable performance. Under the optimum conditions, using 1-methyl-3- (3-sulfopropyl)-imidazolium hydrogen sulfate as catalyst, the conversion of citric acid was 97%.
Tributyl Citrate Production via Reactive Distillation
This work describes the conceptual design and a pilot scale validation of a reactive distillation column for tributyl citrate (TBC) production by esterification of citric acid (CA) with n-Butanol

- Why is tributyl citrate a new non-toxic plasticizer?
- Tributyl citrate (TBC) is a new non-toxic plasticizer, because it has good compatibility, high plasticizing efficiency, non-toxic and less volatile, weather resistance and other characteristics of broad interest, it is used as the preferred alternative green products in place of phthalic dimethyl esters.
- How do you store tributyl citrate (TBC)?
- 300 °C (lit.) 1.043 g/mL at 20 °C (lit.) storage temp. Store below +30°C. Miscible with acetone, ethanol, and vegetable oil; practically insoluble in water. Tributyl citrate (TBC) is a good environmental plasticizers, lubricants. At room temperature, it is non-toxic, it has fruit flavor, it is colorless oily liquid.
